NHT was founded in 1996 as the Nordic Archives Advisory Committee, through a partnership with the Worcester Historical Museum. NHT was established to study the feasibility of preserving the Scandinavian community's heritage through collection, inventory and cataloging of its manuscript and archival materials.
Based on the results of this collaboration, Nordic Heritage Trust was incorporated in 2001. The scope of the collection was broadened to include materials relating to the history and legacy of the Nordic-American community throughout New England. |
